Tracking System -
Advanced GPS asset monitoring & locating device.
Web based monitoring and locating of your
assets has now been advanced with the Spy
Chest GPS 100CT Tracking System. Now you can
locate your vehicles, equipment, packages
and other valuable assets from the
convenience of your home or office with any
internet connected PC. The Spy Chest GPS
100CT uses a combination of advanced
technologies to provide location under
conditions that were not previously
available.
Extended Use & Low Battery Drain
Unlike other devices, the Spy Chest GPS
100CT was developed for extended use and
deployment. Under typical use within a
preferred operation environment this unit
will operate for approximately 9 days with
18 location requests daily. Our web based
access panel will allow you to set the
intervals you would like to receive its
location. For example, you can choose to get
a location every hour, 24 hours a day or
perhaps you would like to have a location
every 6 hours conserving energy. You may
also request a single location. A location
request or ping may done as frequently as
every 5 minutes.
-
The Spy Chest GPS 100CT tracking
device uses 3 different methods
to determine a position.
-
(Assisted GPS, AFLT, &
Cell-Sector.)
When a user requests to locate a device,
our server will communicate with the
tracking device and ask for it's
location. The tracking device will then
attempt to get a gps fix from the gps
satellites in orbit using Assisted GPS
(A-GPS). If successful, the tracking
device will transmit the gps coordinates
back to our server and display them on
the mapping software. In assisted gps
mode, the tracking device will only need
to receive data from 2 satellites to
determine an exact location. If the
device is unable to receive the gps data
(This is normally caused by the tracking
device located in a parking garage,
building, or under metal), the tracking
device will automatically revert to cell
tower triangulation, known as AFLT. (AFLT-Advanced
Forward Link Triangulation)
Unlike A-GPS, AFLT does not use GPS
satellites to determine location. IN
AFLT mode, the tracking device takes
measurements of signals from nearby
cellular towers and reports the
time/distance readings back to the
network, which are then used to
triangulate an approximate location of
the tracking device. In general, at
least three surrounding base stations
are required to get an optimal position
fix. If 3 cellular towers are not within
range of the tracking device, the
tracking device will automatically
revert to Cell-Sector.
A cell-sector locate will reveal the
cell tower that the tracking unit is
communicating with and give an
approximate range accuracy. This is the
least accurate of the 3 types of locate
searches, but will normally be accurate
to within 3000 meters. Cell-Sector
locates will happen more frequently when
the tracking device is in rural areas
with less cell towers or when the
tracking device is an areas with low
cellular coverage.
